Thank you for calling. You've reached Syaoran but I'm unable to answer right now, so please, leave a message and I'm sure I will answer as soon as I can.
[Its a few minutes later, but Syaoran answers, giving a little smile to the other over the camera. Even if he's tired, more than mentally exhausted, he nods, taking the PCD with him to go after his boots and put them on.]
I can bring her along. It might take me a little bit longer. She's sleeping on top of the book case again. [He'll be just setting his PCD down after getting his boots on and moving a chair in the background, a soft meowing filling the silence afterwards.] There we are. Did you sleep well, Little Cat? [And then he'll be back on the feed with a small, light brown kitten with green eyes. Just like her name sake.]
[He's already outside near the lake, the kitten he had taken for himself bounding around in the grass, with all of the energy and enthusiasm of it's owner.]
[Syaoran shows up a little while later, having walked much slower than usual with a sleeping kitten in his arms. And when he sits down next to Fai, Little Cat has opened her eyes, blinking up at Fai with a big kitty yawn.] You wanted to speak with me?
[The moment Syaoran sits down, as if on cue, Galileo jumps up into Fai's awaiting lap, circling for a moment before laying down as well, as if wanting to copy his sister and show that he could be well behaved as well.]
Well, when a child tell's their mother they haven't been well lately, aren't they supposed to wonder what's bothering them?
[The loss of Willow had been a difficult one, he knew. For both of them. The loss of the little Sakura had been one as well. And he feared, just as Syaoran did, who might be next.]
Loving someone is both a blessing and a curse, Syaoran. It makes the time you spend with them more worthwhile, but it also makes the pain of losing them more intense.
[The loss of his other housemate had been a blow as well. It was strange not having either man or dog around the house.]
I'm afraid of what they can take from me. The Animus has very readily shown me these past few months what they can give and rip away.
And I'm just waiting for it to happen again. It...keeps me up at night. [Truthfully, he's left the bedroom to the younger Syaoran and tried to sleep in his chair by the fire. Or even outside with Tsubasa when the nights are warm.]
[He had, in a way, been incredibly lucky. He had only lost Kurogane and Willow thus far. And yet, he stood to lose so very much, if only the Animus should wish it.]
If you keep waiting and expecting something bad to happen, dear one, eventually, your wish will come true. If you keep thinking unhappy thoughts, you'll never be able to forget them, no matter how hard you try.
[There's a moment of silence, his hand absentmindedly moving over the small kitten who lay purring in his lap.]
Perhaps I should come stay with you for a few days.
[And to lose the late queen Nadeshiko as well as his son not to long before this as well. After so many in a short period of time, it breaks down the spirit.]
I understand... and I know this. Princess Sakura has always taught me optimism, but even with her here, it is as if my heart wants to give the optimism to her and keep none for myself. [he's been trying his best not to let her see just how worn down he has been, which is a chore in itself.]
I...I think I should be fine Yuui. You have Fai to look after, and Amaru. I'm old enough to talk care of myself. [Though, he will be resting his head against your shoulder, Mom.] It is nice to talk about it though...
You know, Syaoran-kun~ A mother doesn't stop worrying just because their child is old enough to take care of themselves.
[He shifts, just a little, moving so he can hold onto the younger boy more comfortably. The embrace is warm, comforting, his chin coming to rest on the top of Syaoran's head before he presses a kiss into his hair.]
You're my child now, Syaoran. No matter how old you become, I promise, I will always be there to look after you.
[And then, more quietly.] I do love you very much, after all.
[As Syaoran shifts, Little Cat jumps out of his lap, finding her bed to be a little too wiggly. And its then that he leans more heavily against Fai, wrapping his arms around the mage and pressing his face into the folds of his shirt.]
I love you too, Yuui. Mother. [And he'll just bury his face a little more deeply into Fai's shirt.]
[The soft bubble of laughter catches even Syaoran by surprise as Fai teases him. But that seems all the more reason to keep his face hidden, gripping a little more tightly.]
Mother. [He repeats, almost as a challenge, a little bit of that sadness lifting from his tone.]
[You should know by now that any challenge presented to him will always be met, Syaoran.
The touches get a little lighter, like feathers brushing over the fabric he wore and causing it to tickle the skin beneath. Just enough to tease and warn.]
Mother. [Again, and this time he can't help but let out a soft laugh, louder than the one before. His body tenses, but he's trying to relax because the more relaxed he is, the less ticklish he'll become.]
Little-doggy. [Those fingers curl, digging into ribs softly, moving in rather slow tickling motions. The point is to get you to laugh and lighten up, Syaoran. The relaxation will come later.]
He uses the momentum of Syaoran trying to roll away along with what his own leg's generated to bring them both down into the grass. Their new position allowed him to hover over the other, fingers moving rapidly over the new expanse presented.]
